Improving the Accuracy of Game Vision
Mastering Game Vision Workshop
The Mastering Game Vision Workshop equips teams with a more accurate mental model of Game Vision. This is based on the outcomes of my research at the London School of Economics into the mental models and sensemaking processes of game creators.
Workshop Purpose
This workshop introduces Vision 1/2/4, a mental model which allows teams to define and articulate their game’s vision with greater accuracy.
Vision 1/2/4 is a mental model which details how a game’s vision (1) is made up of two (2) frames, or ‘ways of seeing’. These frames explain how it’s possible for people on the same team to have completely different points of view on what they are making. The frames consist of four (4) dimensions in total, these describe what teams should be clearly articulating if they want to have an accurate model of game vision.
The workshop will explain Vision 1/2/4 in detail, showing how it not only allows for greater accuracy in expressing game vision, but also how it bridges team members in both frames, helping to create a team which is aligned on a single shared vision.
Workshop Outline
This is a 1-day workshop.

Exercise - We do a walk-through of Vision 1/2/4 for your own game.
Wrap-up - Highlight key outcomes from the day and show next steps to put Vision 1/2/4 into action for the rest of the team and studio.
