Player Experience Alignment Workshop

The number one predictor of a successful team is ensuring that everyone is aligned on their vision. Wouldn’t it be better to know if the team is aligned, rather than assuming?

Purpose

The purpose of this workshop is to check if your team is aligned on the player experience of their game's vision. If there are not aligned, we will pinpoint where the variation comes from. Having a single shared vision is the most important factor present in effective teams, and without it your team are unlikely to achieve their goal.

Process

This is a 1/2 day workshop.

  • Introduction - The science of why team alignment on a shared vision is critical to project success. Approx 20 mins.

  • Exercise - Game Vision Alignment Check - I step the team through completing the Vision Alignment Template. Approx 30 mins.

  • Discussion - Discussion of the results, identifying precisely where team misalignment is occurring and why. Approx 1-2 hours.

  • Wrap-up - Outline of next steps towards reaching team alignment.

Format: Remote video (Zoom/Hangouts/Teams etc), or on-site.

Outcome

The team will leave with:

  1. An understanding of how aligned they are on their game’s player experience. Are people on the team interpreting the game’s vision differently?

  2. An understanding of which factors are contributing to people interpreting their game’s vision differently.

  3. Awareness of how others on the team, especially in different roles, are thinking about the game’s vision.

Who Should Attend?

This is for everyone on the team. One of the main factors in successful teams is that everyone is aligned on the vision, no matter the role.

Up to a maximum of 15 people can participate.
